<h2>When to write a long and when a short text for your ad?&nbsp;</h2> Many people get this wrong because of one simple reason: They don’t even think about it. It depends on one marketing secret that blew my mind when my mentor revealed it to me. How can this harm you at all? Well, you can either write a text that’s too short and thus you’ll leave your audience without enough information, or you can write a long text, waste time, and irritate your audience.&nbsp; It’s not something you want to have on the table. The good thing is that’s easy to avoid. You’ll need a few minutes beforehand to think about it and that will do the job. Here’s what you should ask yourself before writing your text: How much is this product/service selling itself on its own?&nbsp; Let me explain what I mean by that. If you saw an ad for a chiropractor, a dentist, a phone case store, a woodwork shop, etc. You know what’s going on. A chiropractor can say: “Does your back hurt? I’ma chiropractor at {place}. Contact me…” He doesn’t need to explain what is he doing. Imagine a phone case ad telling you that you put your phone case on your phone, it protects your phone and doesn’t cover your camera. You would think something like: “Obviously, I know.” Many business owners do that. They are afraid of people not really understanding their service. If this is your case, then imagine you seeing an ad for your service and asking the question I mentioned above.&nbsp; The other possibility is people not explaining things at all. If you saw an ad for a book with totally random headline, a gadget you haven’t ever seen in your life, or a skin product you aren’t familiar with. Of course, you won’t have any idea what is going on. In those scenarios, you need to properly explain what does your product/services do FOR THEM, not like a fun fact.&nbsp; That’s all there is to it. Not hard, you just need to be able to imagine how your clients and customers see your ad, which you are able because you wouldn’t have a business otherwise. Even though an algorithm dictates a search engine's results page (SERPs) rankings, the algorithm rewards web publishers that craft the best content on the internet. Because of this, it’s important to understand search intent. To accomplish this, we analyze a keyword's SERP and determine the problems users are trying to solve when searching for this query. Aja Frost, Director of Global Growth at HubSpot, says, "Yes, tools offer us a ton of information. But that information is often based on incomplete, out-of-date, or biased data sets. I encourage SEOs to combine the insights they're getting from their tools with real-time clues on the SERPs. Every time you decide to target a new keyword, refresh a piece of content, or diagnose a page or section of pages with irregular traffic, take a look at what's coming up for the main queries on Google." Depending on your goal, Frost says to pay attention to:- Search features,- The type of content that's ranking (product pages, listicles, tutorials, etc.),- The websites that are ranking (databases, businesses, media sites, directories, etc.),- How far down the page the first organic result appears, How your page shows up (title, meta description, date, jump links, schema if applicable, etc.). When you conduct these kinds of searches, "Don't forget to use an incognito window, frequently clear your cache, cookies, and history, and run your searches on both a desktop and phone," Frost adds. 2. Master the SERP overlap test. While in SERPs, Frost conducts a SERP overlap test. She says, "I use this test all the time to determine whether to target two-plus queries with a single piece of content." Now, you might be wondering, what is the SERP overlap test? Frost details the steps below:- Do a quick search in incognito for Keyword A and a separate search for Keyword B.- If the SERPs look fairly different (i.e., the top-ranking pages are different, or the first result for Keyword A is the ninth result for Keyword B), Google treats those queries as separate searches with different intent.- However, if the SERPs have a lot of overlap, you can treat them as the same query. 3. Aim for the featured snippets in SERPs. Featured snippets are what search engines use to display an answer to a query directly on the SERP, so a user doesn't need to visit another page to get the answer to their question. Featured snippets can be:- Paragraph-formatted answers - Bulleted or numbered lists- Tables - Videos - Interactive accordions - Short, rich-answer callouts - Interactive tools and calculators - The image below is an example of a featured snippet for the query “What is inbound marketing?” As you can imagine, featured snippets impact organic search results, which is why it’s also essential to try and rank with as many featured snippets as possible. To do so, create posts that answer specific questions users have. The content within your featured snippet must be semantically relevant to the keyword a user searches for.&nbsp; This means that you can’t answer the question of “What is inbound marketing?” with unrelated content as the algorithm knows enough to detect relationships between the keywords and descriptions you give. Additionally, your blog post should be organized and formatted in a way that lets Google know you've answered a question. For instance, this could mean using specific coding, so your featured snippet stands out on the page. According to Karla Cook, Content Marketing Director at HubSpot, "Targeting featured snippets with consistently formatted sections has removed some (but definitely not all) of the guesswork when it comes to ranking for featured snippets." Matthew Howells-Barby, Vice President of Growth at Kraken, has stressed that clean and consistent code is a significant factor in winning snippets. So: what is pogosticking exactly? Pogosticking is when a Google user clicks on your site… …then “pogosticks” back to the search results to find something that actually helps them. And when someone pogosticks, it sends a strong message to Google: “I didn’t like that result.” Needless to say: if your site doesn’t make users happy, Google will downrank you. The question is: How do you keep users on your site longer? Use lots of bullets and subheadings. When your content is easy to read, people will spend more time on your site. (It also stops them from hitting their “back” button.) As it turns out, bullets and subheadings make your content MUCH easier to read: This leads us to our next tip… 2. Find “Suggest” Keyword You probably already know that you can use Google Suggest to find long tail keywords. But what you may not know is that you can use this same approach with OTHER search engines like You Tube, Bing, Google... 3. Delete Zombie Pages Zombie pages are pages on your site that don’t bring in any traffic. They’re just sorta…there. And when you delete Zombie Pages, you can get higher rankings and more Google traffic. In fact: One ecommerce site saw a 31% boost in search engine traffic (not to mention a 28% increase in revenue) when they “pruned” 11k product pages. And they’re not alone. Some websites saw their organic search traffic increase by 88.3% after deleting 40 thousand Zombie Pages from their site. Why does this strategy work? Well, Google doesn’t want to rank sites that are bloated with thin, low-quality content. Google stated that they prefer “one stronger page versus many smaller pages”.
