Can't be doing anything yourself, it's unbecoming. ⠀ AI takes care of marketing and copy and making dinner reservations and making coffee. Sometimes it scares even me. ⠀ Aaaaaaaaanyway, wanted to talk about how to get more clients and/or make more profit as a business owner. ⠀ One of the easiest ways to be more profitable is lowering 'cost per lead'. So whatever you're paying now to get a potential customer in the door. ⠀ If you don't know that number... it should be high priority to find that out. It's important. ⠀ Most businesses can easily lower cost per lead by doing a very simple thing. ⠀ Lower the threshold for prospects to raise their hands. ⠀ - Instead of asking them to pick up the phone and call, ask them to text you. - Instead of asking them to fill out a 47 field form, ask them to fill out a 3 field form. - Instead of asking them to send a DNA sample in the mail, ask them to send an email. - Instead of asking them to send an email, ask them to DM you. - Instead of asking them to DM you, ask them to comment something on your social media post. ⠀ You get the idea. ⠀ Lowering threshold is done by removing barriers. Taking the burden off their shoulders and carrying it for them. ⠀ Yes, this means you'll have to talk to clients a bit more buuuuuuut it also means you'll get in touch with a lot of them in an earlier stage. So you're casting a wider net, which means you catch more potential clients, which lowers cost per lead and cost per transaction. ⠀ Go through your process and see if you can find any opportunities to lower the threshold for your clients. <h2>Why You Should Discriminate Your Clients To Save Your Time and Money?</h2>I'm slightly paranoid about taking on new clients and I think that's a good thing. ⠀ A loooooooooong time ago I took on a real estate client. Let's call him mr X. ⠀ The man was a total and complete scumbag. This was known from the start. You could have asked almost anyone in a 50km radius of where I worked and they would have all told you: 'yep, this dude is a scumbag'. ⠀ But that didn't matter to me. I was just the guy selling his house. ⠀ I sell the house, he's all happy, everything is going well. Closing is scheduled in six weeks. Meanwhile Mr. X. is singing my praises. He couldn't be nicer. ⠀ A week before closing date I call the buyer to make sure we do a final inspection. ⠀ He says: 'no worries, mr. X. handled that two weeks ago. We already moved in!' ⠀ Turns out my scumbag client closed on the deal, didn't pay me my commission and fled the country. ⠀ Never heard from him again. Lovely guy. ⠀ Moral of the story? You can't make a good deal with a bad guy. Cost me about $5000 to learn that. Never forget it. ⠀ It's the reason why I talk to every potential client before we start working together. <h2>Why "Work-Balance" will cost you a Ton of Money and Clients </h2>Ever heard of a 'false dichotomy'? ⠀ I read about it when I was in my late twenties and it always stuck with me. My brain holds on to the weirdest bits of information. Not sure if I'm the only one. ⠀ Anyway, a false dichotomy is a logical fallacy. Someone pretends like there's two options while that's not the case in actual reality. ⠀ You'll recognise these: ⠀ "You're either with us or against us." "If you're not a vegan you hate animals" "I'd rather be healthy than rich" ⠀ You can see that these are all objectively wrong. Pretending you have to choose between two alternatives. ⠀ I'll add one more to the list: ⠀ "Work-life balance" ⠀ What are we even saying here? ⠀ Are you not alive while you're at work? Does your life stop when your work ends? Does your life end when your work starts? ⠀ We're both business owners. I don't know about you but some of my best ideas came to me while walking in nature enjoying life. Spending time with my wife, with my kids. Watching a movie. ⠀ I know that my work-life balance isn't disturbed and I know that I'm not doing life wrong. ⠀ Work is a part of life. ESPECIALLY for business owners like you and I. We are the ones responsible for everything, so we need to oversee EVERYTHING. ⠀ And everything? That's a lot! ⠀ Gets frustrating. Stressful. Annoying. You know what that feels like as well. ⠀ As soon as you find yourself in that position you need to look at your todo list and figure out what you can STOP doing. ⠀ Maybe you need to focus on one platform only and crush it on there instead of halfheartedly doing every single social media platform? ⠀ Maybe you need to zoom in on the weakest part of your funnel instead of trying to fix everything at once? ⠀ Maybe you need to focus on selling just the most profitable products or services instead of trying to be everything to everyone? ⠀ It's different for everyone. <h2>The Biggest Mistake You Can Make In 2025</h2>Few days ago I realized something. ⠀ Thought it over. Did the math. Triple checked the numbers. ⠀ I’m now sure of it. ⠀ Traditional advertising is the biggest scam still running in 2025. By far.Newspaper ads, billboards, television advertising. ⠀ It’s all a scam. And no one is talking about it! ⠀ Here’s a great example: ⠀ For just 7 million dollars you get a 30 second slot in the Superbowl commercial block. ⠀ They say you reach 100 million people that way. Now, let’s assume that these people are absolutely glued to their television. No one takes a bathroom break, no one talks during the commercials, they’re all at the edge of their seats. ⠀ Realistic? Hell no. ⠀ But let’s roll with it for a sec. ⠀ The Superbowl commercial block has a $70 “CPM”. It’s an advertising term. Means ‘cost per thousand’. So what it costs you to reach 1000 people with your message. ⠀ You and I both know we’re not even remotely close to reaching 100 million people so it’s actually way more than $70. Guess what you’d pay to run your ad on Meta? ⠀ To a local audience of people that actually could be customers. ⠀ You’d be showing your ad to people actually paying attention to their phone. ⠀ The CPM would be… ⠀ … drumroll please… ⠀ Somewhere between $5-$15. So we reach the right people for at least 85% LESS than traditional advertising. ⠀ Also… you don’t have to make a fancy commercial. We can just run whatever you’re posting now. Won’t take millions of dollars, won’t take endless expertise, won’t take weeks and weeks of work AND we can reach the right people again… and again… and again. ⠀ And that’s why traditional advertising is the biggest scam still running in 2025. It’s like a zombie that just won’t lay down and stay dead. Just keeps shuffling around.Old school ads are ridiculously expensive compared to all the newer and better options you have available to you. ⠀ So here are Arno’s two top tips for 2025: ⠀ If you run traditional adsright now, consider moving some of that budget to better and more sensible ways of advertising ⠀ If you don’t run traditional ads, consider taking this online marketing thing seriously.
